Prophet Muhammad [pbuh]'s khutbah on the last day of Syaaban : "Oh people! A great month is coming to you. A blessed month. A month in which there is one night that is better than a thousand months. A month in which Allah has made it compulsory upon you to fast by day, and voluntary to pray by night. Whoever draws nearer to Allah by performing any of the voluntary good deeds in this month shall receive the same reward as is there for performing an obligatory deed at any other time. And whoever discharges an obligatory deed in this month shall receive the reward of performing seventy obligations at any other time. It is the month of Sabr (patience), and the reward for sabr is Heaven. It is the month of kindness and charity. It is a month in which a believer's sustenance is increased. Whoever gives food to a fasting person to break his fast, shall have his sins forgiven, and he will be saved from the Fire of Hell, and he shall have the same reward as the fasting person, without the latter's reward being diminished at all."

Eye Makeup Tutorial by Shazana Zaman

The eyes are the most important thing , so make it look its best  :D

BEFORE:

AFTER:

What You'll Need :

1. Foundation closest to your skin tone [or Dior's Luminizer in Bronze]
2. Eyeshadow [2 complementary colors ( 1 dark 1 light), or contrasting depending on the look you're going for]
3. A small flat brush, around 0.5 cm length
4. Eyeliner
5. Eyebrow pencil
6. Mascara [preferably Dior Iconic, saves time since you don't need to use a curler]

STEP 1.

Apply  an itsy bitsy teenie meenie drop of foundation on your finger and dab [not rub] it on and under your eyelid. This is to cover any dark patches or flaws.

STEP 2.

Start with the eyeshadow.  Using a small brush, apply the darker shade of your eyeshadow [Im using plum] at the corner on your eyes in the form of a triangle. Blend it lightly around the edges with a circular motion.

STEP 2.

Using the small flat brush, draw a line [with the darker eyeshadow] over your eyelid crease. Tip: If you dont know where that is, draw it over your lid with your eyes open first. Then darken it.

STEP 3.

From the line you have drawn previously, extend the shadow by drawing a < shape towards your eyebrows.

STEP 4.

Using the remaining color left on your brush, lightly brush the lower part of your eyebrows with it.

This is how it should look like

STEP 5.

Now use the lighter colored eyeshadow. Start from the inner corner of your eye and brush it towards the middle. Note : Dont brush it until it reaches the darker shade. Just leave a little gap in between.

STEP 6.

Using the same color, brush some over the dark line over the lid.

STEP 7.

Eyeliner time! One stroke on the lower lid, and

ONE stroke on the upper lid.

STEP 8.

EYEBROW PENCIL :D

STEP 9.

Glitter, for a shimmery effect. [for night use ONLY]

STEP 10.

Last but definitely not least, MASCARA . Zig zag motion, inwards to outwards.

Of rabbits and chickens.

L: Ooh, satay! Ayam ke?

Z: Tak. Sate arnab.

L: !#$%*&@!! HOW COULD YOU BE SO INHUMANE??!!!

Me: ...

Sate arnab. haha

I honestly don't see what's so inhumane about eating rabbits.I mean, it IS meat, right? Not that I fancy rodent burgers, but I'm just saying. I believe that as long as its halal, I wouldn't think twice about eating it. Unless they're fried grasshoppers, like what Ustad Mahkatar gave me when I was seven. Anyways, L was going on about the 'cruelty of mankind' for a good 15 minutes. Ironically, she was blabbering all this over a plate of nasi ayam. So being the levelheaded person I am, I pointed at her plate and said, ''Isn't that meat, too?'' L said ''Its just chicken. Everyone eats chicken. Plus chicken's not cute or fluffy''.

I almost fainted.

It made no sense whatsoever. Everyone eats monkey brains in China, for heaven sakes. And  is it the chicken's fault its born feathery not fluffy? Is it its fault it doesnt have long floppy ears, hopping around making little kids go 'awww'? I think not. Its totally racist cutist furrist WHATEVER. Its not right. I say eat em all, or leave em all. I told L to be a vegetarian, if she really felt bad for animals. Think about  the number of  chickens you'll be saving, L! Then KFC can stop making their mutant chickens [Something my mental sejarah teacher told me last year. She got it from the net, of course, and the poor thing truly believes it. Hasn't eaten KFC since.]

Back to chickens. And the sadistic human behavior of rodent consumption. L called awhile ago and said she wants to make an ''Anti Rabbit Eating'' group on facebook.

She thinks it'll create awareness amongst the malay satay sellers on how the public REALLY feels when they see the ''sate arnab : 50 sen'' cardboard. I think she's mad.

I didn't tell her that, of course. '' I don't think satay sellers have facebook.'' To which she replied ''Everyone's on facebook, Shaz''.

I had nothing to say to that.

''Ok, go make that group then, L''.

Trip to Balai Seni Lukis

Installation art by Luqman Yusuff. I think.
The trip to Balai Seni Lukis Negara was truly inspiring. Managed to capture some mental pictures of really awhsum artwork, since they didnt allow us to bring our camera's in. Sadly, we had a very pathetic tour guide  [i dont know what you call museum people, im sorry] who said we could ask him anything EXCEPT stuff about the artwork. He then complained we were very malu and 'tak suka tanya'. Like there's anything else to ask. So then he went on rambling about the air dehumidifiers at the third floor. I nodded my head like I cared, just to be polite. Puan Hasni seemed fascinated though. Dehumidifiers aside, the artwork at the 'ABC' floor [Antara Bahan Campur] were teramat sangat cool sekali. Especially the ones with metal in em, which got me thinking, where on earth do you get a hugeass aluminium block? Id really like to try that 'acryllic on aluminium' style.
Besides inspiring me, the balai has successfully managed to make my art look tak matang less awhsum. Im so getting a new sketchbook.

After the trip, we went to Ampang to have lunch. At Mc Donalds. I was probably the only person on the bus who hates Mc D. Then again, Im probably the only person on the bus who eats Mc D for lunch everyday, since my mom hates cooking.
Nehoo, after lunch we went to the Muzium Kraftangan [ i think that's what its called]. Apparently its 'Bulan Perkahwinan' so there were pelamins and wedding gowns everywhere. Wootwoot. Not. We did get free kuih to try, so I guess it was alright. I LOVE KUIH AKOK MWAHAHAHA.
As soon as I got home, I went to Alif's Bistro and ate nasi lemak. Now THAT'S food. :]
